Free Pattern Easy Flower with Double Petals
Easy Flower
with Double Petals
3.5 mm hook
3 colours yarn
darning needle
Abbreviations:
sc = single crochet
MC = magic circle
sl st: slip stitch
BLO = back loop only
FLO = front loop only
Centre of flower:
R1: 8 sc in MC (8).
Sl st in the first stitch.
Fasten off.
Back petals:
Attach the yarn with a slip knot to the BLO.
R2: Ch 7. Starting in the second ch from the hook, work 1 sc, 5 hdc.
Sl st in the BLO of the next stitch, ch 7, and repeat around. Continue until you have 8 petals. Do not work into the sl st from the previous round.
After the last petal, sl st in the BLO of the first stitch and fasten off.
Switch to the front petal colour.
Attach the yarn with a slip knot to any FLO.
R3: Ch 5. Starting in the second ch from the hook, work 1 sc, 3 hdc.
Sl st to the FLO, ch 5, and repeat around. Continue until you have 8 petals. Do not work into the sl st from the previous round.
After the last petal, sl st to the FLO of the the first stitch and fasten off.
Now tidy up the flower: pull the MC closed and weave in the ends. I like to tie a small knot for each colour before trimming the ends.
If you'd like more petals, simply start with more sc in your MC and repeat back and front petals accordingly.
You can use this flower as an appliqué, make earrings, a bookmark, or a bag charm.
